OPI Suzi Without A Paddle

At first glance I thought OPI Suzi Without A Paddle from the newly released Fiji for Spring collection might be a dupe for Gelato On My Mind, but it's not. The colors are very similar but Suzi is definitely a brighter pastel blue. I was really hopping that Suzi Without A Paddle would have a better formula as well because Gelato was a bit disappointing. The first coat was somewhat streaky but the formula had a decent consistency so I was not worried about flooding my cuticles. I decided to apply my second coat thicker than I normally do because I noticed the polish was not all that great at leveling. Even being as careful as I was, I found it challenging to cover my nails evenly and yes it was visible to the naked eye. Suzi is very photogenic! Shown here is two coats with top coat and yes top coat did disguise the leveling issue.

Instead of fighting with my polish I had decided to work with it. I knew I would be stamping it I didn't really have a clue as to what I would be stamping on it. I'm not a great planner because I often change my mind. For example I had just minutes before decided that I wanted to stamp a silver abstract design on Suzi Without A Paddle only to change my mind at the last second and go with the bright purple flowers. A manicure worthy of a vacation in Fiji! I loved the way it turned out when I added the matte top coat. Suzi Without A Paddle is a bit fussy but I found that most pastel cremes can be. I did not love it or hate it when it came to application. If you don't mind having to be a little cautious with your application, by all means pick it up. I can see getting a lot of wear from a color this pretty.
