Fo Shizzle My Fizzle!

China Glaze Lemon Fizz

When my girlfriend pulled China Glaze Lemon Fizz out of her purse to show me what she bought I could feel my eyes narrow a little. Sure I have seen it around but when it comes to yellow polish... well we don't get along. I try to play nice but my complexion is all wrong for it. When I happen to find a shade of yellow that I can get away with the formula is a disaster. I look so much better in blue! My girlfriend was not privy to my inner monologue and asked if I wanted to give Lemon Fizz a try. I told her it looked like a shifty polish but sure I would try it and save her from a disaster. I sat down that night and painted my nails yellow and was ready to hate it. The formula was a lot better than I was expecting. The first coat was a bit sketchy with streaks but it leveled out very nicely and the second coat had my nails completely opaque. A quick layer of top coat and my nails were a happy sunshine yellow. It dried a little darker on my nails than it looks in the bottle but not by much. Unfortunately, no matter how much I like the color or the formula it just did not work with my complexion and my hands had a zombie hue to them. Someone call the fashion police!

Alright, I can make this work I thought. I debated about what my options were. I could take it off, but I didn't want to. I could smother it in glitter, but I had loaned the one I wanted to a friend. My trusty stamper was within reach. Lemon Fizz was not hard to enhance. It didn't matter if I added the glitter or the stamping it would have looked good. I had to admit that I was impressed with the end result. I used a blend of red and yellow Konad stamping polishes together and the combination made me happy. When Mr. Nailvanna commented on how awesome my nails looked I am pretty sure I was beaming. No more zombie hands and you can call off the fashion police. Earlier this week I wrote about how you should not judge a book by it's cover or a polish in the bottle. Maybe I should take my own advice! i hope you did and say yes to Lemon Fizz.
