This Polish Is Grape!
Kokie Raise The Barbados
After wearing lighter colors all week I was looking for something a little richer. Kokie Raise The Barbados is a vibrant grape purple. It has a formula with a great consistency that's very easy to work with. I was a bit surprised to see it dry semi matte and a lot faster than I was expecting. I was looking for a glossy manicure today but since I almost always apply top coat it wasn't a big deal. I also found that Raise The Barbados dried darker on my nails than it looked in the bottle. Once I sat down to write this post it occurred to me that maybe I should have checked it out with a white base. It dried down like a neon polish often does. I didn't have the time to redo my nails with a white base but out of curiosity I tried it on a swatch stick because I wanted to see what would happen. Raise The Barbados on a white base turns out the same color as you see in the bottle. A brighter purple is nice but I liked the look of it without the base as well. Pictured is two coats with top coat.
Silver roses made the base look darker than Raise The Barbados really is. It was such a pretty manicure in person that I don't feel this picture really does it justice. When I removed my polish my nails were stain free as were my cuticles. I love a happy ending! I hoped you all have a great weekend and I'll see you Monday.
