Pretty and Blue!
Pure Ice Rain & Shine
I must admit that I was very happy with my choice of color today. Pure Ice Rain & Shine is a dreamy cornflower blue that I have been looking forward to trying. I purchased this recently at Walmart. At this time as far as I am aware it is the only place you can purchase Pure Ice polishes. From the first swipe of polish on my nails I knew this one was a keeper. The formula has that perfectly squishy consistency I love and applied smooth and even. Two coats with top coat in the picture above. These "Gel" polishes are awesome, however I rarely follow the manufacturer rules. Step 1 according to them is usually the color, in this case Rain & Shine. Since I have found myself on more than one occasion with blue staining on my nails I was not about to skip the base coat. So the nail color was step 2 for me and I mix and match top coats as well and used Essie Gel Setter. If you have a favorite top coat go ahead and use that in place of the recommended one if you prefer. I have never had a problem using something other than the recommended top coat. It's a recommendation, not a rule set in stone.
I was asked by Born Pretty if I would like to try out a few of their products to review. Since I have been stamping my nails just about every time I paint them I felt this would be a good fit. The shipping can take a while so I recommend being patient after ordering. That is the down side, your parcel can take 4-5 weeks to arrive or even longer. The bright side is that ordering from Born Pretty is the price. For this picture I used the Harunouta L026 ID #37419 image plate. It's on sale right now for $2.99 from the regular price of $5.99 I used a white stamping polish that is just about empty but it still turned out pretty awesome. I love it when the lines are clean and straight. I still have a lot to learn when it comes to stamping but having tools that make the process fun and easy goes a long way towards making the learning process fun and rewarding. I always do really well with sale items from Born Pretty and even the regularly priced products are very reasonable. The very first time I ordered from Born Pretty my girl was still in diapers.... she is 8 now! Back in those days it was Hello Kitty nail stickers and today most of my nail stamping plates. They have just about everything you could want for nail art and then some. I don't mind waiting a little longer and the delivery times are a fair trade off for the discounted prices making it totally worth it. I recommend checking Born Pretty out just make sure you give yourself time to browse because they have a huge selection. I love a good sale! I received a discount code to share with you for 10% off your order valid on regularly priced items. Use NVW10 to make a good deal even better.
Disclaimer! I have received the image plate as press samples from Born Pretty .
