Airy Fairy!
Kokie Fairy Dust
Sunny days call for sparkly nails. Kokie Fairy Dust is a steel blue jelly with a strong teal shimmer, and it seemed like a good choice that fit my criteria nicely. It looked pretty in the bottle but I didn't truly appreciate it until I had it on my nails. In the bottle it looks darker, almost a muted blue. Once I started working with it and discovered how light and airy it is I liked it even more. I applied three coats and followed it up with top coat. The jelly allowed the shimmer to show through the layers. I can't find a single thing I don't love about this polish. The formula applies evenly and is smooth as butter. It builds up very nicely, two coats cover just enough to show a bit of nail line. I preferred the way it looks with three coats making it almost completely opaque.
I added a hint of spring with flowers and a Konad baby blue stamping polish, I followed it up with top coat. I really loved how this manicure turned out. Spring on my finger tips! I learned a long time ago not to judge a book by it's cover, or a polish based on it's price tag. I have nail polishes in my collection from just about every price point. Just because you purchased an expensive polish does not guarantee you are getting a high quality product. I'm talking strictly main stream right now because indie polishes are a different ball game. Kokie nail polish retails for $6. That's a middle of the road price point for a drug store brand making it very affordable. Now that I have had the opportunity to really play with a whole lot of Kokie and I feel that I have a pretty good feel for it. Take a minute and check out my other Kokie posts here if you haven't been following along. There are quite a few! I had not come across a single bottle that gave me grief. Sure there were colors that didn't excite me as much as others, but that has more to do with personal preference and I am sure that I have gone gaga over a color you looked at and thought this isn't for me. Never once did I come across a polish from them that had me frustrated. I have bought polish that has cost a lot more, only to wear it once and then give it to my daughter to play with because as far as I was concerned it was junk. No one wants to hang on to a polish with a bad formula. I have not given away a single bottle of my Kokie to lil' Miss Nailvanna, though I have painted her nails on several occasions with it now because she insists on being a copy cat, and yes I love every second of it. I have even painted my girlfriends nails with it and found out that it's quite durable. Since I change my nail polish so frequently I didn't get a chance to really test that aspect. What I am trying to say in my long winded way is that I REALLY like this brand. I like supporting a company that is so meticulous about quality, and at the same time is innovative and affordable as well. I have a feeling that given enough time they are going to win over just about everyone who tries their polishes!
