Date Night!
Kokie It's A Date
I had a hard time deciding on a polish for tonight. I have worn so much red and pink in the last little while that I decided I wanted something different. Kokie It's A Date was an easy choice. First off the name is very fitting for Valentines day. This is a glitter topper and I decided to layer it over Kokie Dark Room, a black creme from the Rapidgel line I chose because I knew the formula would be easy to work with and I was right. I would like to talk first though about It's A Date. I'm absolutely head over heels in love with this one! It's been way too long since I wore an honest to goodness glitter, and it feels great! It's filled with purple, pink, blue, fuchsia and silver glitter suspended in a clear base. I applied one easy coat over the black base for this multi colored galaxy of glittery goodness. I feel that It's A Date would build to opacity quite easily and I did make a mental note to add it to my list of combinations that I would like to try in the future. Since the glitter particles are very small they dry down nice and flat so a quick layer of top coat is all I need for glassy smooth nails. Pretty awesome for date night if you ask me! You don't need much light to get the glitter twinkling.
Kokie Dark Room
As I mentioned above, I used Dark Room for my base from the Kokie Rapidgel line. I love that the formula applies smoothly and evenly with an easy to control consistency that is a great self leveler. It did take two coats for opacity but boy does this polish dry glossy! I have found myself on more than one occasion reaching for the Rapidgel polishes because I have had really good experiences with them. I have my eye one some of the brighter fun colors for spring and can't wait to get them on my nails. You know I will be posting those here as well! As for tonight, I am very pleased with my manicure. It's A Date and Dark Room are a perfect combination. Not your typical Valentine lovey dovey manicure since we did that already, but a dark and sexy one.
