Awesome Violet!

Nicole by OPI Virtuous Violet is an old favorite of mine. The formula is nice and smooth but it is on the sheer side so three coats are required for opacity. Something about this color has had me coming back time after time. It's a beautiful violet that leans towards blue. Application is easy so I was never troubled by needing three coats. I also applied top coat before taking this picture.

Virtuous Violet is my favorite polish to wear with Be Awesome also from Nicole by OPI. Someone posted a picture of this polish on Instagram looking for ideas on how to wear it. I looked through my pictures but could not find where I stored my last mani wearing it so decided to just do another one. Be Awesome is diamond shaped multi colored holographic glitter suspended in a clear base and it truly is awesome! I was not a fan right away truth be told. The first time I wore it I just painted my nails with it over a base color and was not very happy with the glitter placement. I decided to try placing it manually because the glitter is stunning. It sounds way harder than it really is so do not let that scare you away. I usually just pour out a little bit at a time on a paper towel to absorb the excess base and use an orange stick to pick up the glitter pieces and place them on my nail. A little bit time consuming yes, but you get faster as you get more comfortable with placement. Once I have all the glitter placed I usually apply two layers of top coat to smooth things out. I have only applied it as an accent nail this time around because I was a bit pressed for time but have done all my nails in this manner in the past and it is to this day one of my favorite manicures. I find it does not photograph as well as I would like it because in pictures you can't really see the bling power. You need to see it in person! Even in just a little bit of light this glitter pops! It's like holographic stained glass on you finger tips. I enjoyed it so much that I have purchased several back up bottles... I recommend both of these polishes. Combine the two and no one can miss your awesome nails!
