Out Of The Blue!
Kokie Something Blue
I decided last week that Kokie Something Blue would be on the list for this weeks posts. I liked the subtle lavender shimmer in the powder blue, and hoped it would show up on my nails. The first coat told me right away that this was going to take a minute. Something Blue is very sheer but the formula applies evenly. I ended up applying four coats before I was satisfied with the opacity and even then you could still see my nail line. It reminded me very much of Sinful Colors Cinderella, but Something Blue is a much better quality polish. When I tried Cinderella I had really high hopes but try as I might I could not get it to dry. I had no such issues with Something Blue. Even with four layers on my nails, my polish dried in a reasonable time. The formula is delicate and the shimmer shows through the layers! It really is very pretty and I was quite taken by it. I applied top coat for a glossy finish.
The plan from the start was to stamp it with silver, as I did with Rose. I chose a different pattern but still stuck to the Christmas sweater motif. It turned out very pretty, though I think that Rose is still my favorite. I am so glad that I decided to get a little more adventurous with seasonal colours. Winter pastels are beautiful and feminine. Not to mention that tip wear is much harder to spot on a light color than it is on something dark and vampy. This time of the year most of us are pretty busy so getting an extra day or two out of your manicure helps to give you more time, while still sporting a perfect mani!
