Saint or Sinner?

Zoya Saint

Zoya Saint is from the new Enchanted (Holiday 2016) collection. Zoya described it as a whimsical color-flip metallic with a periwinkle base and magenta shift. I found it was a bit metallic and a touch frosty. I'll admit it doesn't sound like a pleasant combination but it is incredibly pretty. I expected this polish to be sheer but was happily surprised when it was fully opaque in the regular two coats. The great consistency of the formula made application quick and easy but it is a bit brushstrokey. It's not as apparent to the naked eye as the camera would have you believe but I would recommend that you use even brush strokes when applying it. I added top coat before snapping a picture for you. The magenta shift is a bit camera shy but does give you a peek here and there in person depending on your lighting.

Brush strokes are a pet peeve of mine. It's one of the main reasons I often skip metallic or frosty polishes. I try to give them a chance but usually I find that all I can focus on are the brush strokes once the polish is on my nails. I always wonder if I could get those lines straighter, would they just vanish? Of course they would not. Some of those polishes you can sponge on with better results but that's hit or miss as well and it can get messy. I find if you add a bit of nail art to the problem polish it can hide the imperfections. It can be just a quick layer of glitter or maybe some stamping as I did today. I would have been happy wearing Saint on it's own as the brush strokes really are minimal to the naked eye but I added a bit of holo to glam it up, using Color Club Crystal Baller. Mostly because it was a beautiful sunny day and perfect for holo. The base color shone though my stamping and I was really loving that color shift. The longer I wore it the more I liked it. Saint really made me want to try the rest of this collection.
