Sally Hansen Ablazing! from the Insta-dri line is a pretty burnt orange color with a hint of gold shimmer. The shimmer is more prominent in the bottle than on the nails but is somewhat visible. Even though the Insta-dri line is advertised as a one coat nail polish that is formulated with a base and top coat for extended wear I never skip either. I applied it over my regular base coat but found that one coat was not sufficient so I applied a second before applying my top coat. I really was hoping that this would be a one coat wonder because I was thinking this color and shimmer could be a pretty one for stamping. I found the formula was a little thinner than I expected but it was not at all runny. It has the wider brush that contours to the nail that I used to dislike but has really grown on me. Maybe my chief frustration came from trying to use them on itty bitty lil Miss. Nailvanna's nails. Now that she is a bit older(her ripe old age of 8) her hands have grown just enough that is has become easier to stay inside the lines....her capacity for leaving a mess has increased as well... One day she will have a daughter who is as messy as she is and she will be as frustrated as I am... and I will laugh and laugh and laugh... probably the same way my mother is laughing at me right now, but I am certain I was a delightful child! The wider brushes are a good thing, unless you are painting small child sized nails. On my own nails I find it allows for a quick and clean application. Would I recommend buying Ablazing? Yeah I would. It's inexpensive, durable and don't forget pretty. It's not just a plain boring orange for fall, it has the subtle gold shimmer that adds to it's appeal and the color is rich and vibrant. I did not like it for stamping but I only tried it over a purple. Maybe over a lighter color it might work better but I will try that another day. I ended up wearing it just on it's own and found both the color and shimmer gratifying. I really liked having a clean, smooth and glossy manicure today but if you would like to add embellishments you have many options. You are only limited by your imagination.
