It's important to have the staples and Finger Paints Magritte's Masterpiece is one of mine. I picked it up just on a whim, not really expecting anything but a nice blue creme but was blown away as soon as I had it on my nails. I have a sea of blue nail polish because ... well because I can. I just love a good blue and finding a perfect cobalt blue like this felt like winning. I have purchased many bottles of blue in hopes of finding the right shade only to have my heart broken. Can you hear the tiny violin playing in the background? But then I found Magritte's Masterpiece and it is just about glowing on my nails like it is lit from within. I love the formula as well, two easy coats that dry shiny. I have a gazilion toppers and glitters waiting to come out and play and thanks to Magritte's Masterpiece I decided to dig a little.

I decided to go with Clarins 230 because I felt a little bit sad when I realized how long it has been since this treasure has seen the light of day. It has been discontinued since 2008 and I guess I pulled a Smaug hoarding it in a dark drawer. Hidden away from the prying eyes of those who might dare to steal this treasure for themselves, how dare they look upon the arkenstone! What ... ok I'm back. Any time I have played with 230 in the past I always felt cobalt blue would be the perfect base for this color changing shimmer. I could go on and on about how much I love 230 and still to this day think it's so wrong they did not properly name it. Would you ever call your baby 230? But this is about Magritte's Masterpiece and it's a great nail polish. I'm very happy to have found something I have been in search of for such a long time. A great blue is just as important as a great black when it comes to base coats and let's not forget white. Whether you are just looking for a base for a glitter, stamping or nail art having the right basics on hand is delightful and gives you the freedom to bring your vision to life.
