Kemistry!
Sinful Colors Angelik
I've been going back and forth lately between dark, vampy nails and fun, light and girly. Sinful Colors Angelik was an easy pick for today's manicure, it looked like it would be fun. It's a matte formula and not textured like the last two I wore so I was a bit worried that application may be questionable. Some matte formulas are a real pain unless you have a very steady hand because as they dry they show exactly where your brush has been. As your nails dry they can end up looking like you have drag marks. Top coat can disguise that problem but if you are not planning on adding top coat then it's worrisome. No one sets out to paint their nails to look messy on purpose. That's not fashionable, at least not yet! The formula for Angelik has a great consistency and as my nails dried it was obvious that brush marks would not be an issue. I applied three coats for opacity then snapped a quick picture. It's the palest shimmer filled pink ever. Very soft and feminine. I was toying with the idea of adding top coat because I know that would make the shimmer pop and I was curious to see what it looked like. I had a change of heart though...
Sinful Colors Konfection
Matte Shimmer meets Holo Glitter! I had been eyeing Konfection wondering what I wanted to layer it with. It seemed to me that Angelik would be the perfect partner for Konfection. It's iridescent and holographic glitter suspended in a clear base and Sinful Colors did not hold back on the glitter! I have always been on the fence when it comes to matte glitter. Somehow it seems to me that matte and glitter should not be included in the same sentence but all you have to do is look at my picture and it's clear that the combination works. The formula for Konfection is great as well. Easy and smooth application, The sparkles, the glitter... you need this one! It's gorgeous! I was ecstatic with this combination. It was not really matte looking because nothing could stop this radiant glitter from glistening.
I added a layer of top coat because now I had to see if I could push the bling factor up. It sure did. Before top coat Konfection is a bit textured and understandably so. The glitter is small but not micro fine so it has a bit of body to it. A layer of top coat smoothed it out. The shimmer from Angelik and the glitter from Konfection were more pronounced but my camera can only handle so much glitter at a time. I don't think you can go wrong with either polishes but the two together were a winning combination! If you have missed any of my other Sinful Colors posts you can catch up on them here. They have had some pretty great ones! Happy reading!
