Glitter Me This!

Ciaté Dangerous Affair

Ciaté Dangerous Affair was a happy little surprise in my August Ipsy bag and I was pretty excited to try it out. A stunning burgundy cream that is going to fit like a glove into my collection. It's a deep color that would be flattering on just about any skin tone. It's one of the classics and should be a staple color in every girls collection. The formula is smooth and easy to apply. The first coat was a touch patchy and second one still had a couple of spots I could see through but I was applying it very thin. The humidity has been interfering with my nail polish fun and although the heatwave has broken it's still not 100% gone. I was not about to allow bubbles to rain on my parade so thin layers of polish it was. I added the third thin layer and it was perfect. I tried to be patient and wait a few minutes between layers of polish but I don't think I gave it more then two minutes of drying time. Dangerous Affair dried very glossy with no bubbling to be found. I could not resist adding my customary layer of top coat and it did add a bit more gloss to my manicure. With vampy colors like this even if the polish is super glossy I will add top coat because working in an office my polish leaving trace marks on paper is not all that super and top coat helps prevent that transfer from happening.

China Glaze Luxe and Lush

I was sorting though my collection, trying to get a bit more organized and I realized I have so many different glitters and toppers that I love to pieces and I miss playing with them. After I took a picture of Dangerous Affair it occurred to me that China Glaze Luxe and Lush might look pretty sweet on top. My bottle has been around a bit now so it's a little bit thicker than it used to be. I added a few drops of nail polish thinner to make application a little more user friendly. Lush and Luxe is a flakie topper that flashes all sorts of pretty cool colors depending on what you use as a base color. I loved seeing the flashes of gold, green, blue, and orange with this combination. I was a little bit heavy handed with the flakies so a couple of layers of top coat was necessary to finish things off. I could have added a bit more nail polish thinner to make life a little bit easier but I didn't want to over do it. I was quite happy with my manicure! I don't think I'm going to neglect my glitters again for quite this long. They are way too much fun to play with.
