Shimmergate...

Essie Bikini So Teeny

Nailvanna,nail polish review,lacquer,Essie,Bikini So Teeny,blue

Essie Bikini So Teeny has such a delicate shimmer and it is clearly visible when you are looking at the bottle, I just could not resist bringing it home. Once I started painting my nails I had an inkling that the shimmer would be just about gone by the time it dried, but I was hoping that since this color is gorgeous maybe the shimmer would be too. I took the chance and unfortunately it wasn't. The formula is a bit on the thin side but I had no issues with streaking. I applied three easy coats for opacity and followed it up with top coat. I loved how vivid this blue is while still managing to retain a softness. Bikini So Teeny was launched in the summer of 2012, but with Pantone Serenity being one of the colors for this year I felt that Essie Bikini So Teeny would fit in perfectly and probably more so now than when it was originally released. While trying to describe it I kept thinking of Super Mario world with it's perfect clear skies and the occasional smiling clouds. OK so that world has floating gold coins, mysterious item boxes as well as oodles of monsters that breathe fire and throw hammers at you but Bikini So Teeny made me think of the serene sky and the laughs the kids had while playing the game. I love it enough to recommend buying it, just do not get hooked on the shimmer when you see it in the bottle because once it's on your nails it will barely be visible. However with a color this pretty just about anything can be forgiven! If I had one request for Essie about this polish, It would be to ask her to recreate it with a more prominent shimmer. Here's hoping!
