Milani Gilded Rocks

A couple of months ago I was shopping at the supermarket and was just on my way to pay when a little glimmer caught my attention. It was just a tiny bit of glitter but I had to go check it out. At the end of the isle I found a narrow little shelf of Milani nail polish display. I have never heard of this brand before but the price was right so I quickly grabbed the sparkliest bottle that I saw and kept going before I talked myself into buying all of them. Not a very long process if you must know because I'm very much an impulse shopper. In all honesty what sold me on this at the store was the cap. It is shinny and gold with a glitter top... As a side note I do have a no judging rule when it comes to impulse shopping! We all have had a moment or two of weakness. I'm just glad mine was not expensive, this time.

I had to snap a picture of the top of my bottle to show you how pretty the top is! Am I right?

It did cross my mind to buy every color but I resisted the temptation. The last few days I have been reaching for the creme polishes so I felt I needed something with a little more bling. I noticed Milani Gilded Rocks still sitting beside my laptop untried and I still was loving that glitter cap. I decided to try it and I am so glad I did because I loved this polish from the first brush stroke! It's a beautiful mix of pink and gold shimmer and glitter of various sizes in a clear base but the glitter is very dense so I had total opacity in two coats. The formula was very good. Usually with a glitter polish I expect it to apply a bit gritty but Gilded Rocks was smooth and had no issues controlling the formula. I get so excited when I discover a new band that is this lovable. One layer of top coat is all it took to get my mani smooth to the touch. I was planning on going to the grocery store this weekend again because the kids just eat and eat... My oldest is almost as tall as me at 11. I have a feeling that I may just come home with a few new bottles of Milani to try out. I'll make sure to post all about them!
